Tag: #GDPR

The Data Protection Office has moved and send me:

            Dear XXXX,

We have been informed by the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner ('IDPC') that you have
submitted a complaint concerning Gozo General Hospital regarding your payslip documents which you have provided us from time to time.
An explanation for why our reply was not previously forthcoming may be found in the reply we have sent the IDPC,
which will be forwarded to you by the same IDPC. Meanwhile, kindly find below our reply to your subject access request:
Please be informed that, as explained in the Appointment letter you were provided with, being an EU National, you had
the option of providing us with any of the following documents: “COE or Previous Month's Document (showing SS/NI deductions)
or EHIC (only as a follow up from an Emergency case up to 3 Months)” and thus at no point were you forced to provide us with a
payslip. You were free to provide a different document from those mentioned therein. Moreover, the document you provide, whichever
one you opt for, is merely used to determine whether you are entitled to free healthcare or not, based on your nationality and residency
status, in line with our legal obligations as a hospital. This is also explained in the Appointments letter you were provided with.
Once such determination is made, the document you provide us with (in this case a payslip) is shredded and no copy of it or any
extract thereof is retained by us.
Furthermore you are kindly invited to read through our Privacy Notice,
which is and has always been available on our website (https://www.stewardmalta.org/gozo-general) and which goes into further detail
on how we process personal data in general.

            Thanks and Regards,

            The Data Protection Office

What they didn't know, I also see that they send something else to the IDPC.
A lot of blabla, that they couldn't answer me because of my Email Server (I was Blacklisted by Outlook) ... blabla...
But here comes the funny part.

            ...

Money Qoute: "... at no point were you forced to provide us with a payslip ..." they lie in right in your face... wow!
We have the Email were every foreigner has to send the payslips and a lot of eyewitnesses and victims. They never tell any different option.

But I think, since there are Blackmailed by maltese GOV, nulled contracts and facing the shutdown I leave that dying dog alone.

One more (surprising) thing: The maltese IDPC seem to take it serious and worked well. This is good to know.
